From 8-17-98 news release:
Digitcom Corporation announced plans for the immediate installation of IP/Telephone Network service in five cities in Indonesia with the signing of a joint venture agreement with PT Duta Pertiwi Santosa (Wisma StarPage, Jakarta).

Wait just one minute here!!! Is it not true that Jimmy Chin
just secured the 16th and LAST contract available in Indonesia?
And that another company or companies have the other 15?
If so, then how is Digitcom linking 5 major cities?

Again, this was the 16th and last contract offered by Indonesia
no one else wants. The "billions" to be made are in the urban PSTN's
where long distance traffic is heaviest. Those other 15 contracts
which DGIV does not have probably compose the better geographic
areas comprising cities. I venture a good guess that the last
remaining piece of the puzzle that the major telco's passed on
does not include any part of Indonesia's scarce urban areas.
A typical call from "area 16" is more likely to be a local call from
the fishing wharf to the village market for a price on squid.
Whether in Asia or Europe this scenario has probably repeated
itself; and for that reason I question the validity of this
press release.
