Sam: I already own a substantial amount of VTEL at an average price around 11. I've also got CLIX and am looking at picking up some PCTL (any advice on a good price for same from this board would be appreciated).

There are two ways to look at the traditional videoconferencing (H.320) companies and market. Number one: Intel is coming, Intel is coming - can you say burnt toast? Number two: People will get videoconferncing, people will get videoconferencing, cake for everyone.

I am of the second opinion. So I'm buying a basket.

VTEL's strengths are vertical market relationships and Intel investment. I'd be happy to get to 20. It doesn't seem to want to go much below 9. CLIX is doing a lot with government - and I'll bet Clinton and Gore are going to come up with some big wire education plan. I don't know a thing on this, BTW, I'm just hunching. CLIX is probably the diceiest financially, but what the heck, I'm a gambler. PictureTel has far and away the best management - they are like terriers and great at handling the Street. They could also have a double on the upside - institutions like them.

But hey, I admire anyone who has the guts to consider buying stocks in this market. Good luck.
