I'm sure it can be be profitable on occasion- but holding a position overnight is not daytrading, it's position trading. By definition, a daytrader never holds his positions overnight. I'm not saying position trading is wrong, it's just a different animal. I do both, but when you go into a position as a daytrade, you must have the discipline to get out the same day.
