ProMedCo Promotes Robert Smith to Chief Financial
Officer
FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--ProMedCo Management Company (Nasdaq/NM:PMCO -
news) today announced that Robert D. Smith (age 38) has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Smith joined the Company in January 1997 as vice president and controller and in April 1998 was promoted to vice president
of finance.
Commenting on the announcement, H. Wayne Posey, president and chief executive officer of ProMedCo, said, ''Robert has

Prior to joining ProMedCo, Smith was vice president and controller of US Foodservice Inc. and later with Rykoff-Sexton, Inc.
after its merger with US Foodservice in 1996. He has also served as chief financial officer and controller of White Swan, Inc.
and was a senior manager with Ernst & Young, serving in the Fort Worth, New York and Washington D.C. offices. Smith
earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
