I got this off of briefing.com : "10:45 ET ****** CHEYENNE SOFTWARE INC. (CYE) 20 1/2 +4 1/8. Stock doing better this morning following company receiving an acquisition offer from rival McAfee Associates (MCAF 58 1/2 -1/4) of $27.50 per share or around $1 billion. However, its board has declined offer, but speculation is that company may now be in play and rebuff may be a way of increasing offer price. Company has also adopted a "poison pill", making hostile bids very expensive for potential bidder. But, investors are betting that deal may be in the works, once both sides have a had a chance to cool their heels on this proposed merger."
