I'm a motorcyclist too, and I'm waiting for the IMTCS (Inflatable Motorcyclist Total Coverage Suit)! Anyway, SMU's bolster is designed to protect the legs in a crash. Seems that what happens is that you slide under the seat belt and crush your thigh bones upon impact with the dash board. Yuck! It would seem that elevating the feet would only make the leg injuries worse.
