Vasu, my reference to commodity was only to imply what kind of control
the company has on the pricing of the product. If the degree of
control can vary from 0 to 100 percent, then theoretically at one end
(0) is a company that is an infinitesimal part of the market and the
many big players vie with each other, with nothing to differentiate
themselves. At the other end is monopoly with ready buyers, but no
competition.

Obviously, there is no company at either end.

But Micron is pretty close to the 0 end because:
1. They can only sell at prices approaching the spot price
(no control or differentiation).
2. They are a small player and getting smaller in the
DRAM (down from $1100, to $700, to $350 million
in the last three consecutive quarters).

This is not the kind of stock that demands a 100% premium.
