Rule changes that I believe are correct thus far:

1. Use of DH
2. Lowering the mound
3. Lengthening the distance from rubber to the plate
4. Ground rule double on balls that bounce once and go over the wall
5. Banning of spit ball
6. All runs that score on a game winning HR in a tie game get counted now.

Other statistical gathering change:

1. Saves are computed differently now than before.
2. A runner who went from 1st to 3rd on a single used to be credited with a stolen base(I think).

Point of all this...the game is remarkably similar to the game played in 1898. Football and basketball can't say that.
