The best way to use your database is run scans in QP that filter the stocks you would be interested in. forget the total database. All of them are there in QP, if you want a look at something not available from your filter if you are lucky enough to have less than 255 candidates, they are all there in one dir.

People have different mindsets. one might not want to trade stocks under $15 or over $100, they may want 100,000 avg vol, a QRS >70, above the 89 day MA, etc and etc. You can run scans each night in a few minutes. If you will buy anything that walks, you can set up all stocks in multi directories. use MSWIN explorer to do your scans.
