Matt,

When Wall Street believes they see the end of the tunnel, stocks will firm up. It won't matter what those situations do between that time and the end game because the market will have a handle on the outcome.
When Indonesia first devalued in Oct. I figured everybody knew the consequences but apparently they didn't. Russia and Japan should have been no surprise after that. That's partly why I posted last month that the Dow had no business making that new high. We'll just have to sit and wait until they get it right. Most rallies in individual stocks will be very short and most drops from here out will also be smaller and short lived.

As for Clinton, the politicians probably have all the game plans worked out and inside money would be aware of the exigencies. Any occurrance that makes the market drop would likely be a buying opportunity. I don't think it would come to impeachment. Do the Republicans really want Gore in there?
