Ratan: ROYAL FLUSH I admit it. I have been wrong about the Royal Family. I thought they were not worth the shit !!!!!!!!!!! The present vestigial Monarchy, is a benign institution and I am disposed to its continuation at least for the benefit of the American tourists. The pomp and fanfare associated with public Royal functions are in a way incongruous to the power vested in the Royal family; nevertheless it has its value in maintaining the tourist industry and keep the Royal family in accustomed comfort. Just look at the MiniRoyals in India, who had been deprived of their privileges, because of the drain on the treasury. India could not afford the purses that the Royalty were getting and therefore abolished the purses and titles. JPR
