Adding to my position today as price drops below book value. Company announces it won't "recapitalize" which I take to mean that the management (controlling stockholders) won't take the company private. Looks to me like the market is saying (stock is down 2. 3/4 so far today)that management believes there is not enough value there at 15+ to make a private offer. (Or maybe market is saying: first an announcement they're looking to 'recapitalize', then an announcement that they're not--- seems (again) that management doesn't know what they're doing.)
However, at price now below book value and having the dominant, world-wide position in the lead battery business, I think prospects for the long term look favorable. Now if I can just hold out for that long term -g-. Paul Senior
