We were joined shortly by Lawrence Mealey ... he had brought a substantial dossier of documentation concerning his past employment. Did not seem overjoyed at having been viewed as a business surgeon, but was indeed proud of the bottom-line changes in the companies concerned. He is a rather dignified, although slightly stiff Englishman (typical of may other former RAF pilots I have met - ed.) I Asked both of them about Big Dog and Hypsters boosting the stock. Both expressed that they were not happy with the great jump the stock had made and that Big Dog had never been and is not being compensated in any manner by cygs or anyone they know about. Said that they of course monitor many threads.
THE SHRIMP COMPANY - both stated that there is an ongoing project concerning shrimp. When I questioned if this was something valid and viable, they gave me this link:
http:duke.usask.cal/~misra/virology/aquacul/shrimp.html
However, they stated that this was not their primary concern at this time. My question about why research is not being done in Vet Med was answered with, "There is some, but again, it is not our primary focus and we feel there are better places for our efforts and resources at this time."
Spoke via telephone with Dr. Conrad. Asked him outright in front of Gibson and Mealey if he felt he was in anyway being scammed by cygs association. After he stopped laughing, he replied that he was not and that their association was both symbiotic and very cordial. He said that testing and research is going forward, but then explained why this type of research seems so slow to we who aren't in it. I must admit that I didn't fully follow all he said ... until we started discussing flying and airplanes.
I was offered access to anything in the office I wished to look at, but after picking up a couple of dossiers that I didn't begin to understand, I dropped that tactic.
Dr. Conrad and the other two explained that they met through having a common patent attorney who was handling applications for both Dr. Conrad and Mike Skillern.
As to the fetuscicle project ... all still hold that the primary reason from dropping it was social pressure and that the viability of it has been proven by the "Dolly-the-sheeps" cloning. They do not plan on returning to "pregnancy suspension."
Have been invited back to meet with Skillern on his return, and plan to do so. That is about the gist of our meeting as best I can reiterate it, given my aging brain.
