I agree with you. 90% of my money is invested that way. I pay little attention to it over the years and it just grows at a reasonable rate. However, I have 10% of my money that disagrees with the above statement and is for the volitile day trades and short term. It usually makes higher gains, but I could lose it quick too. I learned that in 1987. I rode that one out and only wished I didn't have it all invested long term. November/December 1987 was an excellent time to buy, but I didn't have the cash (It was all in mutual funds). I now have that 10% and would look forward to build that 10% to use in the next crash. It will come, maybe not today, but it will come. Maybe not until Y2K kicks in, who knows. JMO
