Nice thread Joe. I'll add my .005 cents worth. [Used to be two-cents til I played pennies].

To me the playing field is terribly uneven. Give everyone level II real-time, ability to short sell, instant trades, a fair spread and same access to company information and watch how easy it is to make money. MMs have a ridiculous advantage. Furthermore, they have little regard for what is best for the company. They screw us...we leave...company suffers.

Greed is the culprit. I'd suggest changing system to an open bidding market and use a computerized system that adds liquidity based on a formula and not an MMs greed or personal agenda.

What has changed seems to be the aggressiveness of the short sellers on pennies. They seem fearless as they jump on top the pile of buyers, trying to squash a run for easy money.

Lying CEOs, IRs, PR agents, employees and unscrupulous investors further warps the playing field. This leaves private investors to beg for scraps of dubious info and often never know the truth.

Filing is not the answer. I have seen companies that file regularly pull surprise reverses, reverse mergers and other devastating maneuvers. Increasing the severity of punishment to violators seems to be the only answer with any bite. The slap on the hand rarely touches offenders pocketbooks, according to SEC reports.

At this point, I have given up on "hopefuls" entirely. Only pennies I will hold are those that have been in business for a while and have an impeccable history. Pipe dreams no longer come true. And that is what is scaring investors away from BBs. IMO

Playing pennies is like trying to win that big stuffed animal at the carnival. The carni workers have it rigged so that almost nobody wins. So we spend 5 times the cost of the prize, spend half the night humiliating ourselves and walk away penniless. [lierally and figuratively]
