PALO ALTO, Calif. (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard Co., the world's second-largest computer company behind IBM, on Monday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings that were little changed from a year earlier but exceeded most analyst forecasts.
ÿ The company said it earned $621 million, or 58 cents per diluted share, in the three months to July 31, compared with $617 million, or 58 cents, in the year-ago quarter, when it had fewer shares outstanding. Analysts had expected earnings of about 54 cents per share, according to a consensus published by First Call.
