I am not sure what to think on this deal. Fiebiger is a great exec and would be a strong addition to the actel management team, but why the strategic alliance, vs an outright purchase? Clearly the small guys need to get under the umbrella of someone or die from lack of critical mass. But what does the Alliance mean? Actel will market their products, right? Why not just OWN their products? Third party alliance products don't often get sold with the same enthusiasm as one's own products, so this deal is either step one toward an acquisition, or just another non-event... Oh, and it took two press releases three days apart to explain the deal? Very bazaar... -tt
