This just means the two sides will continue duking it out.

Judging from what I've read at the Washington Post web site,
he may be following the John and Patsy Ramsey strategy. Lie
and stonewall for months after the incident. When faced with
mounting pressure to cooperate, go into an interrogation and
give no quarter. Make a public appearance after the closed
interrogation to plead his case and attack the interrogators.
