The Americans feel cheated. They are accustomed to tearful televangelists prostrating themselves to the congregation. Bad enough that they did not get to hear who did what to whom and with what at the grand jury. Five minutes, and Bubba was angry, not remorseful. Now the populace is pissed. Tune in tomorrow.
We have succeeded in emasculating our Democratic President to the same extent as our dysfunctional Republican Congress, who, after gaining a majority, promptly shut down the legislature in revenge for having done so. That leaves The Fed, The Courts and The Media to run the empire. Soon, we will elect our newscasters. Click on [ O.K. ]
So far this year, we've done a good job of selling off the remnants of our industrial age, C to DAI and AN to BP, etc. - in preparation for the information economy that we have become. Medicine as infocure. Americans don't want to work in factories anymore; haven't, really, for some time. Forget Farms. Indeed, unlike the EU, craft-work labour is considered by many to be once removed from flipping burgers at the local DairyQueen - about the same socio-economic status as teachers, who are particularly out of favour at the moment: Economics used to be The Dismal Science, but now it's Teaching in a Public School.
Once there was SuperMan - the man of steel. Now there is Spock - the man of logic.
Curiously, none of our heroes have the power to be loved.
Thanks God we had the good sense to liberate women, before we did all this. Vive la difference ! Shout it out.
