Kerry, I think you made an interesting comment about the nature of the DRAM business changing. I think there are two factors that argue against the long term success of MU: 1. Critical mass. New fabs cost more than a billion dollars and depreciate fast. MU is simply not big enough to continue to build fabs with a Samsung or a NEC. True, they can do what they did with 16 Mbit, and update old lines at a fraction of the cost, but that will make them capacity shy if and when a turn to profitability occurs in the industry. 2. MU has always been a follower of the technology leaders. One stab at leadership, the Burst Edo fiasco, cost them a lot of money and credibility. But, I think they have to get back on the horse that threw them and try to innovate, even if it is risky. The product is moving too fast for a follower to compete effectively in the future. MB
