Well, Don, since you mentioned the speech...

I thought it was interesting that his reason for not being truthful was first, that he was embarrassed for himself. Always looking out for himself. Not for his 19 year old daughter, who's been raised to believe that her Dad is a truthful man.

And he certainly doesn't seem to have any sympathy for Monica Lewinsky who was thrown into the spotlight because she thought she could trust someone who pretended to be a friend.
