Mark,

I'm confused a little. I think we are speaking of two separate things:

1. The image and likeness thing - my opinion
2. The "gods" thing - what does the verse mean

I realize that you are trying to marry the two together, but I don't think that works in context. It might be a philosophical difference between us. Bear with me as I paraphrase, your belief is that we all have some of God in us. I believe that God dwells inside of us after we accept Christ as Saviour. This indwelling does not make me a part of God but a partner with God in my life. So, in my mind the two points mentioned are not one idea.

The image would be our physical appearance, the likeness our internal similarities (Emotions) - IMO.

The "gods" thing being literal does not work within the context of Psalm 82 and John 10 as well as other parts of Scipture. It also does make sense to my beliefs, since I am convinced that there is nothing divine about me or anybody else.

Bob

PS. This is a first, we're actually interactive instead of speaking with an 8 hour lag. :-)
