On the other hand, if Angola doesn't enter the war:

1) Kabila could leave, preventing many deaths.
2) There could be an ugly war with Kabila attempting to hold Katanga.
3) There could be more anarchy.

If the rebel government, the Congolese Democratic Coalition (CDC), takes power, it will encourage resource developments in the DRC to proceed quickly. They'll certainly need the U$50 million that Tenke will owe when the mine development begins. I imagine that they'll be starting with an empty treasury.

I'm long TNK again. I bought some TNK shares during last week's dip.

On the down side, I think that anyone willing to risk capital with Tenke after this war is over will want more for their money. Either more equity or a higher interest rate. It's also very important that Banro gets their property back.
