Don, you are right....sort of....this should not be about sex...Starr had a mandate to investigate a broad range of potentially illegal activities with the Clintons....he has been investigating for a couple of years now...we still do not know what facts he has unearthed yet...but...if the only facts he has found out are due to Clinton's affair with Monica...I will be mad....I want and expect there to be numerous findings concerning whitewater, filegate, travelgate, and perjury....if he has nothing on those matters...and only presents evidence about Clinton lying about Lewinsky...after all this time...then I will be mad...
I think Clinton was wrong...a man of his age, with his power, to have sex with a girl half his age...in his place of business...where I pay his salary, is a definite no no....and Monica was over 21, she also should have known better than to have an affair with a married man...they were both wrong...
Starr will be wrong in my book if he has put all these people, including the secret service, through this for only the sexual encounter...and yes, Clinton lied under oath...most men would to cover up an affair...not a good reason to put the country through all this....the office of the president has received a major blow...the respect is diminished...that is Clintons fault...he should have known better....even if Starr hadn't probed...we might have found out about the affair anyway...Clinton knew he was being investigated...it was stupid of him to have the affair knowing he was being watched...stupid....
I am withholding judgement on his potential impeachment till I have all the facts...till I see what else Starr has...and heaven help him if he has nothing else to present but the sex....
Our president did not apologize last night...he looked into the camera twice in the last few months and denied the affair....then last night in my opinion he did not apologize...instead he came out swinging at Starr....
This country has been distracted...we have bombings in Africa, a bombing in Northern Ireland, Hussein acting up again....could these terrorists think our country is weak now because we are distracted? We must get our focus back....
Clinton needs to start acting like a president...not a bad little boy who got his finger caught in the cookie jar...and he needs to get his hand out of that cookie jar....Hillary needs to wise up, and stop playing political games....Starr needs to get his facts before the House and get this investigation out in the open.....
This is everyone's fault...Clinton, Hillary, and Starr...they all share a part of the blame...I am ashamed and disappointed in the conduct of my president....and I am tired of hearing that other presidents and congressman do the same thing...so what....that still does not make it right for him...
One last point...our men and woman in the armed services would be court martially for the same offense...why does our commander in chief get sympathy for it?
