More bad news for Rowan....

HOUSTON, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 17, 1998 at approximately 4:00 p.m., there was an accident on ''Rowan
Gorilla V''. Two employees were killed and a third was injured.

During the leg erection process at Sabine Pass, Texas, a 66 foot long leg section weighing approximately 430,000 pounds was
being lowered by a crane when the load experienced an uncontrolled decent.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
