Don Yes, I agree that most, if not all, Christians agree on those central themes. I agree that relative to those themes, much of the rest appears trivial on a relative basis. I agree that the truth is always the truth no matter how we percieve it, although we each have our relative truths that are just as real in our own worlds.
I agree that the Bible is a wonderful tool, that has turned around many lives(as have other religious texts, just to be fair)
However, outside of those themes, there are many diferent interpetations of the Bible. There is no central viewpoint or focus. Why is this? Is it mans failure to understand or is it the translation, or is it another reason? If yoou are to take the Bible literally, these are important questions.
