DLL << When you were growing up were you exposed to God's word in Temple? Do you feel it is at all important to understand your culture and heritage? You were born into a heritage that is beautiful and has blessed the world. I have been spending time trying to understand it better. If you could decide in your heart that you want to understand God's Word he will speak clearly to you. However, you must believe and understand that He will be with you as part of that journey. You cannot remove God from the knowledge and understanding of his Word because he is the Word.>>
After my father died(when I was 10), I was given the choice of continuing my Jewish education or not. My mother didnt feel as if she had the time, resources, or energy to make either myself or my younger brother and sister go, if we didnt really want to. I was Bar-mitzvahed, my brother and sister weren't. I stayed in the Jewish religion until I was about 20, to varying degrees. As I got older, I became more and more unhappy with organized religion of all kinds. the end result is where I am now. I dont know if I have answered your question or not, but if I havent, please let me know.
