another example of human nature.. one has to break one's neck to search for news on the unimaginable flooding in china..but the dress is everywhere

It is true that the news prioritizes what it feels is important. This situation with Lewinsky, although important, has overshadowed everything for many months. It does not serve the US image well, and I'm sure has affected world wide opinion. In the global community, I believe the US has lost a little respect in that regards.

Anyway, the market has not reacted badly to Clinton's speech last night. In fact, I believe that a declaration by the President to explain his position, has removed one of the "dark clouds" hanging over the market. I am fairly certain no impeachment procedure will be recommended, as Mr. Clinton appears to have found a "loophole" in the way he answered questions in the Paula Jones case with regards to Ms. Lewinsky. Whether or not he "dies" politically in office is another thing, but all the spin doctors are working overtime to prevent that.
