I understand your point. Yes a respect for others personal freedom/privacy seems to be fairly ingrained in our culture (wonder if its a nationalistic thing). Starr has clearly violated that in many minds.

Interesting in the address last night Clinton also made the point about Starr finishing up with the comment that "the investigation is now under investigation". Unfortunately the point may have been valid but pundits feel the delivery of that portion of the speech was poor. Too bad, as I think that is the most important point that was made last night (I dont know whether it came across poorly or not because I missed the actual broadcast and only saw snippets on msnbc).
