Please forgive my ignorance. I've been luking here for a while and I have not seen an answer to the question of supply capacity. Does it really matter if the spot price is declining at a slower rate or even nudging up a little, when that is mostly achieved by temporary shut downs? The moment the prices start to go up the new supply will suppress them. This will go on until either half the production capacity disappears, or the demand doubles. But all the reports I've seen on the PC industry claim that demand is slowing. Am I missing something here?

PS so far this year I got 128MB of free DRAM from CompUSA. The last one 2 weeks ago. I'd say DRAM prices will start to firm up when people stop giving it away for free.
