Why would a Gnostic tract be the original source of Jesus' words if the Gnostics were not followers of Christ? It isn't. They weren't. Which is why it's not in the canon. Since you are now an expert on 'the early Christians duking it out', give us a short explanation of the controversy leading to the Council of Nicea.
