To answer your questions, I think:
1. Intel will create more powerful processors.
2. Microsoft will continue to have powerful upgrades.

That does not rest your case. Ignore the price decline in DRAM for
the sake of this argument. Look only at the market share of Micron.
In the year that Intel introduced several flavors of Pentium, each
more powerful than the other. Microsoft released several software,
each more of a memory hog and haphazardly designed as the other.

Yet Micron's market share went down.

You didn't rest your case. I don't think you have made any case at
all.
