The contrarian returns!

Joe would you think that a comparison of the Russell 2000 small cap index vs. the S&P 500 would adequately reflect the folly of this thread?

After all the S&P 500 is the index that the lion's share of mutual funds fails to beat in terms of performance.

Today the Russell 2000 actually outperformed the S&P 500. It was up 1.81% while the S&P 500 was up 1.62%

You know looking at these charts I would have to say you are getting the better end of the deal. Unfortunately I am not trying to prove that the Russell 2000 will outperform the S&P 500. All I want to show you is that it is very inaccurate to generalize about a whole group of stocks and say they are dying. I really think you have accidentally called the bottom. Don't worry, if I am wrong instead of you I will admit it and apologize.

BTW I am thinking of starting a new thread free from judgmental motivations and agendas where those who are truly skilled investors here at SI can freely benefit others with their investment acumen.

Something like the Ultimate Stock Club?

I would like to try to get some help from those with the greatest knowledge in their particular areas of interest. I would like to see participation from short term traders, long term investors, chartists, due diligence specialists and the like.

We have an excellent resource for doing research here called the internet but no one can cover all the ground by themselves.

What do you think?

Regards, Jeff
