Franco,
Everything you say about Clinton is correct.

What I think is setting him apart is the concept that Starr is motivated "politically".

No one doubts the man lied. No one has stated he has high morals.

What everyone is disgusted about is that over $40mm has been spent to rub his nose in it. And for what? People do far worse every day...but are not under the scrutiny...from being in politics.

I'm not justifying his actions or morals...and I wish our elected officials did practice better moral standards. But the fact of the matter is they are human. They do screw up. The American people didn't elect Clinton to "preach" morality...( we have Republicans for that)
but to "lead" the nation. Instead of wasting time and money...why don't the elected officials get on with the job we elected them to do.

Clinton is a lame duck. What's the point...?

Now that this episode is coming to a close one way or another...can we expect some sort of politicaly inspired "investigation" of Gore? Why not...its becoming the new form of character assasination. Can you imagine the games that will be played the next time a GOP wins the presidency...

The pathetic part is we all lose because...as usual ...government becomes ineffective...
