Go figure, I am on a job site a couple of weeks ago and the master mechanic is overhauling a blown motor out of Cat earth mover. He said he couldn't remember the last time he had to do this with a Caterpillar, they usually do a block swap, but Cat was so backlogged they sent him the parts. This is at the "Orange Crush" where the 5,22, and 57 freeways meet(Orange County, So. Cal.).
BTW Paul, according to my sources,(Yahoo) Cat reported on July 16 at 4:31 EST.(?)
Agreeded, there are problems, but i don't think the dodo (trouble) is quit that deep, I do not hold Deer, But Cat's parabolic accent since 1992 has stalled once again, but the long term trend line has not been violated. (Looks like Deer's has)
In my opinion, both Cat and John Deer are not "get rich quick schemes" but comfortable long term investments, that should be watched carefully in the near future for good entry points.
