Steve, talking about Schedule D, do you or anyone knows if there is an Excel Schedule D template available for downloading from the internet that would do the math for you? I now enter all my trades on my own Excel spreadsheet but the closest possibility for printing a Schedule D with all the trades on it is to use an actual Schedule D form and try to match my Excel spreadsheet font size so they can all fit. This is a challenge but I really hate hand copying them.

Also,

1. What would you write on the sale price column if it is an option that expires worthless?

2. If it is a call write that never get called, how should one write the cost basis and sale price?

3. If it is a spread (not two separate put and call), then what?
