I am not sure about him being short for the past 7 years, but I do know he has been a bear since the DOW of 4500 (about 3 1/2 years ago). He often is a guest on CNBC's Squawk Box show and talks about how the sky is falling and the big bad bear is going to come to get us all! His best single idea last year (as he said on CNBC) was to short DELL, and it has been his largest short position followed by Gateway and CPQ. Well we all know what DELL has done to him (!!), and will do to him first thing tomorrow morning!! And CPQ will soon do the same thing to him also. Dont know about Gateway but the perception will drive up GTW also big time!

In any event make a note of what he said today with regard to AMAT, and then come back to him in about 3-4 months from now and see how he comes back for more punishment!

One thing I am baffled is, given Fleckenstein's horrible returns of the past 3 1/2 years who in his right mind would give his money to this guy to invest for him unless that person is either mentally disturbed or has too much money he can afford losing purely for tax write off purposes!
