Jim, Dell is doing well, but at heart is a marketing organization that is very good at what it does. However as margins fall it muststay in the game if not completely match the others. Dell has had an easy time in essence eating the share of others. Those others are pretty much gone now and gains are harder to come by. CPQ still is good prey for Dell as it keeps it's attachment to the retail sales force, thus sharing a margin that Dell keeps completely to itself. Market economics will force CPQ sales to fall and at some point it(and some others) will totally copy Dell as the only survival route.
Once that happens the dreaded commodity period begins.
