Dealing with idiots.
Occasionally I have to do that but not often. Although others may think I perceive I am dealing with one I have a natural arrogance problem which shines through even on my best days no matter who I am posting to. So I am always rather flip.
Take anyone, for example. My discussion there was purely about form not about anyone. anyone had a point of view and we clashed over it. No big deal.
True idiots are butt-headed morons who think they have the right of way. There was a guy on that thread for example who chastised myself and anyone for arguing, that we were ruining the thread. Well damn, anyone and I were posting about the topic of the thread when we were not arguing. This guy never posted except to complain we were ruining his reading material.
I have often, when in a reasonable frame of mind, perceived that I should take the step of first composing a responsible reply on Word or whatever, take a break, refine it, and then decide whether or not I wish to transmit it.
I imagine I would get into less trouble that way.
Unfortunately, I deviate from such a plan too often. I imagine if I were more postured about my response then my replies would have more merit.
In your case I imagine that would be difficult, because not only are you challenging the shill but the legion of followers as well.
Well, good luck in your chosen vocation. I do not envy you. Some of these people are downright obnoxious. |
