Greetings Barry,

First off thank you for your courteous response and the offering of your opinion.
I enjoy conversing with people where mutual respect is still evident for all concerned even in the heat of major disagreement.
I have not encountered anyone, prior to your expressed opinion, that has viewed the desire for eternal life as being ego based. At least none that have described it in that fashion.
Ego or pride I've found is something that all people, myself included, are guilty of at times. Some obviously thrive on it.
If you perceive the desire for eternal life as egotistical I remain guilty as charged. This is interesting for in bible based Christianity, pride (a proud look) is something that God hates.
Where you stated << Doubtless, you will think me a major sinner, and doubtless, I will have your pity as well as your prayers.>>
Yes, I endeavor to pray for all people that I get to talk with on these subjects and you will be a part of that ever growing list.
I ask my God to bless them and to keep them in his care and to grant His wisdom to each and as I believe and as the bible teaches I pray for their salvation through Jesus Christ.
Do I think you a major sinner?
Don't be so egotistical :0)
No I do not. By my faith I know that ALL people including myself are guilty of sin and there is no just person on earth right up to the heads of every church that don't commit what the bible calls sin.
Thus Christs' atonement for us.
I know we are on two completely different plains of thought here but I enjoy the conversation and I would like to hear more of your thoughts if you are so inclined.
Sir Isaac Newton eh? I don't think my ego can stand it, besides didn't he get hit on the head with something?
Have a good night or day as the case may be and yes may my God richly bless you.
John
