I agree with you that a rally will occur that will likely take the market broadly higher but don't think that enough has worked itself out. The underlying problems are real and excess speculation, indicative of the internet stocks, is still rampant. I'd love to see a real cleansing move similar to '87 but over a couple of months. I'd also like to see some of the speculative stocks, like AMZN come down at least to the oxygen level of the atmosphere before to market moves forward. The market is still highly irrational, IMO, with money being thrown at speculative and over-rated areas and big caps while many growing, well-run small and mid cap stocks are way under-valued.

A gut wrenching period, short of disaster, would do the country good!
