Index Options

are settled for cash, as are S&P Futures. So if you have an OEX call 20 points in the money you get $2000, even if it's trading at $21 when you exercise it.

So for example if it's after the close on Friday and the OEX closes at 530 and you have a 510 call come Monday you have the 20 points in your account. We all should get "stuck" with that problem.

Normally you do not see OEX exercises until the last week of the option cycle.

For a little money, I use a Reuters link for historical data.

equis.com

They gave me the Downloader for free because I signed on for one year.

also, this may have something, I found it while looking for the Reuters link.
