Sure, but when did actual integration started to happen? There are plenty of examples of companies that never manage to unify their corporate cultures.

E.g. has OpenText unified its facilities or do they still have offices all over the world? Were the local fiefdoms ever broken? Are people still thinking in terms we are from part A and they are from part B?

I guess we just don't know, but my point is that there are many examplesof companies that did not develop a unified culture (I've heard NCR was one such).
