Oops! I realized after I posted that CAT reported a couple days earlier. I am short DE though, which I did as an earnings play, and I am thus quite happy as if the time on this post. Regardless, cAT and DE are fine LT investments - 2 world class co.s, but their industry is the canary in the coal mine for economic troubles that are on the horizon. While LT I am as bullish as anyone, ST I am bearish on capital equipment of all types and any co. associated with infrastructure development. By the way, no conflict of interest here.... my company doesn't manage money or make recommendations.
