Good morning Geoff,

The major point I was trying to make was a quantification of AlanH's issue concerning the limits of Dell's potential growth. I simply tried to show that there was more potential life in this cycle than he seems to believe.

But since you raise the issue, I guess I believe that HWP will be the first major company to exit the PC market, although I expect it to maintain its presence in the server market. I expect CPQ to maintain, and probably strengthen its position in the consumer retail market and high-end server market and service. But I also expect it to become a token presence in the desktop and workstation market. I don't know where IBM will end up. I still can't figure that company out. These projections now qualify me as a bona fide futurist.

As an aside, perhaps you should take over the elasticity argument for awhile. People like Stock Bull don't seem to fathom my arguments. Maybe you will be more successful in convincing them than I.

TTFN,
CTC
