CNBC interview of M.DELL- 'Simply irresistible'!

morning Sig:

Say you know this song by Robert Palmer called 'simply irresistible'?

Hope you have watched the interview on CNBC.So what do you think??
I thought it was quite precise, articulate and to the point, in other
words SIMPLY AWESOME.

I thought the questions asked of Mr.D was quite good and the answers
even better.

Highlights

1.China plant open for business.MD thinks China will be the next
big market for PCs.

2.Implication of currency devaluation in China- Dell's PCs will cost
more in case of a devaluation but MD said at the same time they also
buy a lot of components from there. As it stands now DELL buys more
componets from China than their sales there so the overall effect in
the event of a devaluation will be positive though it may be bad for
the global economy.

3.Asia still only represents 6% of total sales so it is not a significant percentage as of yet.DELL thinks the real growth in the industry in now occurring in N.America and Europe and the company in taking full advantage of this situation.

4.MD also said in spite of the problems in Asia DELL has managed to
achieve considerable amount of growth in these parts because of their
cost advantage over others.

5.DELL trying very hard to transform the buying habits of their customers and potential customers to the internet so that the company
and the customers can achieve further significant cost reduction.

6.As for competition DELL thinks their business model and strategies
are hard to copy and therefore they will have a significant advantage
over others.

7.Europe- 5 countries in Europe are growing over 100% a year and Dell's presence in these countries should help to further gain market share in these countries.

8.How long can Dell keep up this growth: Michael thinks that since
the company only has less than 10% of the market share world wide he thinks the growth can continue for quite a long time.

Well these are some of the points I am able to remember I am sure others who watched the interview will add to what I have just put down
here.

Seeya.
