Interesting thing about the Clarence Page piece is that it discusses the sex scandal as if it were the only scandal connected with the administration. The original post for this thread points out that this is just one part of a horribly broken system. To those of you saying America should just put this behind us - if it were only this one issue I would agree. Unfortunately, there is a history of bad judgement, decisions that are detrimental to the countries long-term well being, abuse of power, corruption, and plain dishonesty associated with this administration. It's just too much to ignore. If 10% of what Clinton is accused of turns out to be true, Watergate will look like a walk in the park.

We have the misappropriation of FBI files (there was only 1 for Watergate, and over 1,000 for Filegate). Nixon was accused of using the IRS to go after enemies, but he was under audit by the IRS himself during Watergate. On the other hand, over 50 conservative groups have had the IRS go after their tax-exempt status after they have spoken out against Clinton, as have numerous conservative leaders. Both scandals involve cover ups. Nixon had his enemies list, Clinton has the database that was put together after the FBI files were obtained, that many consider to be an illegal use of confidential information and of White House employees. Remember, this information was provided to the DNC, and was put together from FBI files that the DNC had no right to peruse.

I'm not even talking about Whitewater, Chinagate, Travelgate, the members of this administration that have been under investigation or indicted for a variety of crimes, the associates of the Clintons that have been convicted, etc.
