Revenue for Home & Rural Appliances, a division of Shearhart Corporation,
were $27,916,318, which is up $4,709,882 over the same period last year.
The company's net profit after minority interest and tax is also a new
company record of $502,150 (5.6 cents per share), up $106,107 over last
year.
The company's Hamilton location has recently begun renovations to update
the look to its new store concept. Modeled after the Richmond Hill and
Brampton stores, which have proved to be successful, these renovations
include hooking up live displays of appliances, and special lighting and
colours to relax the consumer as they enter the store.
At the end of July, the company's Scarborough location was moved from a
5,200 square foot premises to a 11,000 square foot location just two blocks
away from the old location. In addition, the company's 16th location has
been found. It will be in London, Ontario, is 5,300 square feet and is
expected to open in mid-September.
