Be careful about taking the Forbes article 100% on face value. Many inaccuracies. Lots of fact too. Since I compete against Notes solutions perhaps you'll accept that I don't count Lotus Notes out yet, at all.

Thus the power of Livelink. So, what is the comparison between Livelink and Lotus Notes?

The example given was a poor one. Searching across multiple format files is age old functionality provided by every single document management system out there, plus lots of other tools too.

No, there is lots of commonality between Notes and Livelink. Both are more than just full text search engines. Way more. I would bet that Livelink counts Lotus Notes as one of their top competitors.
