Cayenne Software Announces Release Plans For ObjectTeam For Linux Professional Edition
ObjectTeam for Linux Met with Flood of Interest
BEDFORD, Mass., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Cayenne Software (Nasdaq: CAYN - news) today announced that ObjectTeam for Linux -- Professional Edition will be available before the end of September 1998. The release date has been set based on very positive feedback during the first week of beta testing, and on the overwhelming demand for the product.
ObjectTeam for Linux -- Professional Edition, will be available for purchase over the web, and will have a list price of US $195. It is a single user, single diagram version of the full-featured ObjectTeam product currently available on NT and UNIX platforms.
ObjectTeam for Linux -- Professional Edition will be licensed for commercial use, and will be a maintained product, with frequent updates. The Personal Edition will continue to be available at no charge on the company's web site.
On-line technical support for either product will also be available, and will be US $49 for the first month.
Following the unveiling of the beta release of ObjectTeam for Linux -- Personal Edition on August 10, the company's web site has been inundated by interested visitors. In its first week, there have been thousands of requests for the software, and the company's web site has serviced almost 3,000 product downloads.
''We were completely caught off guard by this enthusiasm,'' said Michael Jannery, vice president of marketing for Cayenne. ''The single-day and single- week activity on our web site has broken all records for the number of visits, unique visitors, new visitors, and downloads. As a result, we have increased our network bandwidth to accommodate this new level of web activity.''
The third member of the ObjectTeam for Linux -- the Enterprise Edition, will be a full version of ObjectTeam, including all UML diagrams, and is expected to be released later in the year.
